Hi, I’m Ashlee –
a senior UX designer based in Canada.
Sometime in 2016, after living majority of my life in Vancouver, I booked a one-way ticket and moved to England –because as many 20-something year olds like to say, “I had to go find myself.”
Through all my travels – the uncomfortable ones, the breathtaking ones, the home-sick ones, and the last-minute ones – I learned perspectives can change, that it’s actually important to change. This is where I fell in love with design, and its powerful ability to tell stories – and tea, I fell in love with that too.
it’s a big world out there –
a whole new set of stories to find.
My design opportunities gave me the chance to work in different countries and in the midst of all the moving around, I also found a passion as a mental health advocate. It’s important that I create a safe space for these discussions. This changed the way I work as a creative: it taught me to put my hand up when I’m uncomfortable and say “Hey, let’s chat.”
My experience ranges from working with a small team at a marketing agency, to working in-house at a dance studio and a handful of freelance work in between. And as a Canadian who is proud of their hockey, I got the incredible opportunity to work at Electronic Arts Canada on the NHL Team.
Currently, I’m a Senior UX Designer at lululemon on the North America e-commerce team.
Whether it’s about work, travel or just how your day is going, I hope this inspires some sort of conversation – we can chat over some great English tea.
